“A T S ” Any idea what that stands for? What about this list? Any idea what these are?:
- SmartRecruiters
- Taleo
- Zoho Recruit
- Workable
- Greenhouse
These are Applicant tracking systems and ATS is an acronym for a word you should know if you are actively seeking a new job! More than 75% of companies are currently using these and this is the system that in most cases receives your CV first before it even gets to the Recruiters desk! KEY TIPS ATSs use resume parsing or CV scanning features to screen our CVs which split text into keywords. The ATS then compares your CV/resume against the job description skills and calculates a CV/Resume score.(even highly qualified candidates can get low scores if they do not have the keywords!) By knowing some simple tricks and tips, you can improve your chances of getting an interview call significantly. My next post will focus on helping you optimize your CV so we can get past that ATS but for now my main mantra is ” What is meant for me will be mine!!” hashtag#atshashtag#careeradvicehashtag#applicanttrackingsystemhashtag#futureofwork

Do you have a Career Plan?
May 1, 2019
I thought I had one in my late teens, but my dream to be a lawyer is very different to what I do now. Some of us are very clear about what we want to do from an early age but for others that change many many times for different reasons. Maybe that time for you is now. Are you struggling to figure out what to do and how to setup a new career plan that excites you and is in line with your purpose? You are in luck here are some key questions for you to use as you brainstorm and set a new career plan in motion:
- a. Who am I and what is my passion?
- b. How does my ideal job look like? What will I be doing on a daily basis, what do my colleagues, boss, and working environment look like (you can create a vision board! Make it fun do it with friends, a spouse or your kids)
- c. How will my work fit into the other areas of my life?
It doesn’t matter what stage you are at in your career, always go back to the drawing board and check, update and refine your career plan!
